Bunny Rabbit explores the instinctive, playful way we experience the world before we begin assigning it rules or meaning. Using a rabbit as its central subject, the work combines gestural marks, layered color, and loose forms to create an image that feels both recognizable and dreamlike.
The painting began as an exercise in returning to a more uninhibited way of seeing. To allow shape, color, and movement to exist without needing to be perfectly resolved. 
Through its playful palette and loose mark-making, Bunny Rabbit considers the balance between recognition and abstraction, and the space between the world as it exists and the world as we perceive it. The work invites the viewer to look at something familiar through a less structured, more instinctive lens.
