"Journal Entry #1" is a deeply healing piece for the artist—an emotional release captured on canvas. The fragmented face, composed of a spectrum of colors, suggests the many masks we wear to conceal our true feelings. Yet, the somber eyes pierce through, revealing the raw emotion hidden beneath. In creating this work, the artist allowed her own mask to dissolve, embracing vulnerability and finding strength in that openness.
